Notice of Office Closing - The Saginaw Charter Township Government business offices will be closed all day, July 3, 2009 in observance of the 4th of July holiday.

Garage Sale/Lost Pet Posting - Saginaw Township now offers FREE garage sale/lost pet posting on our web site for Saginaw Charter Township residents. select Events Calendar on the left to learn more about our new community service.

West Michigan Park - Workers from Fisher Contracting, under contract with Dow Chemical, are currently setting up to work at the Township's West Michigan Park, across from the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Commencing on Monday, April 27, Fisher Contracting will excavate one foot of top soil from the park and neighboring properties. Dow is paying to replace this top soil with clean soil and restore the park to its existing elevation. In addition, Dow has committed to paving the parking lot at the Park, as well as replacing some of the older playground equipment with new. Dow also added to the project some new technology for stabilizing the river bank.

All this work is being paid for by Dow Chemical with the approval of the Environmental Protection Agency. This work is associated with the Dow Dioxin cleanup efforts proposed by Down and this is one of the first projects approved by the EPA as part of Dow's dioxin remediation work. The park is expected to re-open by July 15, 2009.

 

2010 Census Kicks off with Address Canvassing - Beginning Monday April 20th, a crew of 18-20 U.S.Census Bureau Employees will begin making their way to every address in Saginaw Township. These workers are ONLY tasked with visiting each possible living quarters for correcting addresses to mail out the 2010 Census forms next year. These workers do NOT need to talk to residents, although they will if asked. They may also be forced to talk with residents to determine if there is more than one living quarters where they are at. Other than verifying the addresses, the workers will also be marking a GPS location for each address to aid in the mapping of Federal and State Congressional Districting. All workers will be carrying a black bag with a white “U.S. Census Bureau” on it as well as a white colored badge and DO NOT need access to the living quarters. Questions about the census may be answered by visiting the U.S. Census Bureau web site at: http://www.census.gov/main/

NOTICE - Yard Waste Curb Side Pickup - Curb Side Yard Waste Pickup resumes Monday, April 6, 2009 and ends Tuesday, November 24, 2009.

NOTICE - Brush Site 5790 West Michigan - The brush site will be open the third weekends of June (20 & 21), July (18 & 19), and August (15 & 16). The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
