In 2004 Saginaw Township residents elected Shirley Wazny as Clerk.

Shirley is a tax preparer in the office of Alan R. Wazny, CPA and is actively involved in the community. She is a graduate of Northwood University, receiving the honor of Distinguished Graduate.

Under her guidance:

Saginaw Township has successfully implemented HAVA (Help America Vote Act)
Assured ADA compliance at polling places 
Trained inspectors on the assisted marking device (AutoMARK) 
Updated the business license and alarm permit programs

Shirley is reaching out to the community in efforts to familiarize students with the voting process so they become more aware and active citizens. She is responsible for implementing Project V.O.T.E. (Voting Opportunities Through Education) in Saginaw County. 

Shirley and her husband Alan have four children.  Her hobbies are tennis, golf, and finding treasures to decorate her house and cottage.
