4 ON 4 BASKETBALL
RULES

TEAM:

1. A team may carry a maximum of six (6) players at any one time.

FORFEIT - Teams must have 3 players to start each game. Players cannot foul out. Game time is forfeit time.

2. ALL PLAYERS MUST BE ON THE TEAM ROSTER AND ENTRY FEES PAID BEFORE PARTICIPATING.

 

FEE REFUND POLICY:

Team registration fees will be refunded in full provided request for refund is filed at least one week prior to the official closing date of registration. Request for refund filed in the last week of registration will result in forfeiture of 25% of team fee. Requests for refund filed after schedules are drawn or league season begins will result in 100% forfeiture of team fee.

 

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY:

Players must be at least 18 years of age by the first game of the season to be eligible.

 

RULES:

Same as pick-up basketball, call your own fouls. Every 3rd foul results in 1 point for the other team. However, the court monitor has the final decision in the case of a dispute.

Jump balls go to the defense.

 

LENGTH OF GAME:

35 minutes or the first team to score 70 points.

 

GAMES:

The season consists of six (6) games, plus a post-season tournament.

 

FLIP OF COIN:

The flip of the coin decides who gets the ball first.

 

TIME OUTS:

Each team is allowed one one-minute time out per game.

 

DUNKING:

Absolutely no dunking allowed. This includes before, after or during games. Technical fouls will be called for each violation and player removed from the game.

 

TECHNICAL FOULS:

Technical fouls are two points to the opposing team plus possession of ball.

 

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Substitutions may only be done on dead-ball situations.

 

EJECTION:

Any player(s) dismissed for unsportsmanlike conduct, flagrant foul, continuous arguing, misconduct or rough physical play could result in forfeiture of said game and the team could be dropped from the league.

 

SHIRTS:

Teams should have the same color shirts on all its players. Numbers are not mandatory, but recommended.

 

FINAL DECISIONS:

Final decisions on all matters will be done by the Saginaw Township Recreation Department.
