Beach Volleyball Rules
TEAM:
Team roster limit: 6
Teams play 4 on 4
Each coed team must have at least 2 women to play each game. Individuals may only play on one team in a division.
FORFEIT:
A team must have at least 2 players to start a game. Game time is forfeit time. Five minutes thereafter for each game.
HONOR SYSTEM:
Honor calls are a necessary part of this program - you are responsible for calling your own faults.
TIME-OUTS:
Each team is allowed one 30 second time-out per game.
SCORING:
Matches consist of 3 games Rally Scoring. The first two games will be played to 21 points, win by 2. The third game will be played either to 15 points or when time is up, whichever comes first.
SERVICE:
Teams flip a coin to determine serving first & choice of sides. Teams switch sides at 5 point intervals and at the end of each game. Losing team of first game begins serve of second game. Volley for serve for third game if teams are 1 and 1. Serve from anywhere behind end line.
Overhand serve is legal.
Coed - Serving order must alternate male & female.
CONTACT:
3 hits - a block is not a hit. Overhand set is legal. Dinks must be cleanly hit with the heel and palm of the hand or closed fist.
Coed - A female must touch the ball - if more than 1 contact.
